Saudi Design Week 2015

Saudi Design Week in its 2nd edition has begun.

وبدأ الأسبوع السعودي للتصميم للسنة الثانية.

Only for this year it's bigger and better than the 1st edition. It is happening on two parts; one is a showcasing at AlFaisaliah Resort and the other is a series of creative discussion and talks that will be taking place at its usual hub, King Faisal Foundation. 

The photos that I will be featuring here are of the 1st part, at AlFaisaliah Resort. Though a beautiful place, I had the misfortune of arriving an hour before they closed for the day! It is a 45min drive from my home, and before I left, there was a sudden change in the weather where it turned dusty, with strong winds that looked like the beginning of a sand storm. I almost canceled my trip all together!! Thank God it rained right after that, and in a matter of hours the weather was clearer and much suited for our trip. but still I was so delayed!!

That is why I had to hurry around and take as many pictures as possible but I couldn't see everything nor talk to everyone Sadly. But I was happy to have at least seen some part of it. 

هذي السنة شكله مسوينه أحسن وأكبر من العام. راح يتقسم على جزئين: الأول عبارة عن معرض في منتجع الفيصلية، والجزء الثاني في مكانه المعتاد في مؤسسة الملك فيصل واللي راح يكون فيها كل المناقشات والمنتدى.

الصور اللي راح اشارككم فيها هنا من الجز الأول في منتجع الفيصلية. مع ان الموقع مرة حلو الا انه مرة بعيد ووصلت قبل ما يسكرون بساعة! الطريق ياخذ ٤٥ دقيقة من بيتنا، وقبل ما أطلع قلب الجو عج وكنت خلاص ألغيت روحتي! بس ربنا لطف ونزل مطر بعدها غسل كل الغبار. فقررت أطلع بس مرة تأخرت!

يالا لحقت اخذ صور وأشوف أكبر قدر ممكن من العارضين بس ما لحقت على الجميع وفيه ناس ما أمداني شفتهمخسارة. بس الحمد لله شفت لي شي عالأقل أحلل فيه المشوار.

نورة الخراشي

الكرسي العربي هو التصيميم اللي فاز بمسابقة أورا للتصميم في الأسبوع السعودي للتصميم العام ٢٠١٤ من تصميمها وراح يكون اصدار محدود. 

Baraboux

Baraboux has launched a typography competition in collaboration with Khatt Foundation and named it "Letters To Wear". All of the top entries have been exhibited. 

The wining designs has be produced into leather accessories to be worn, as shown in the last picture.

بارابو

اطلقت علامة بارابو بالتعاون مع مؤسسة الخط مسابقة" الحروف الملبوسة" للخط العربي وعرضت المشاركات المميزة في المعرض.

اما التصميم اللي فاز فسوا منه آكسسوارات من الجلد موجودة في آخر صورة.

Draft 

Recycled and re-purposed paper and crates have gone into making these pieces by Draft. They are launched for the 1st time at SDW.

درافت 

هذي القطع مصنوعة من ورق وكرتون تم اعادة تدويره واستخدامه بتصاميم من درافت. وهذا أول اصدار تم عرضه ولأول مرة في الأسبوع السعودي للتصميم.

Loved talking to this ball of energy,Wadha AlRashid the creative mind behind Draft. 

استمتعت بالكلام مع وضحى الراشد، العقل المدبر وراء درافت.

Preciosa Lighting 
Mr.Udhe Michal was kind enough to send me a better image for the beautiful Crystal Chandelier that was displayed that night. 
It was such a beautiful pieces that I couldn't do it justice with my shot and he didn't want to embarrass me so I have added both mine and the professional one sent by him.

اناراة پريشيوزا 

السيد أضي كان مرة حليل وعرض علي انه يرسل لي صورة أحسن للشندليرة الكرستال اللي جابوها للمعرض.

 شكله حس بمعاناتي في تصويرها وما حب يحرجني.

 والقطعة كانت مرة حلوة مع اضاءة المكان فعشان ما أظلم القطعة ولا اضيع اللي شفته وحاولت أصوره، حطيت لكم الاثنين
